Our Experience

David Charlton FCA Partner

I set up the firm in 1992 in direct response to the needs of owner-managed businesses - a market I felt was not served well by the accountancy profession. Based upon my experience as a partner in one of the Big 4 accounting firms and with the skills provided by the rest of our team, The Charlton Williamson Partnership is able to provide our clients with a wide range of services not generally available from other firms of a similar size.

Stuart McKinnon CTA ATT Partner

Tax is an ever changing and increasing complex area of business where experience is just as important as professional qualification. I am able to blend over 30 years of experience in both Big 4 and smaller practice environments with membership of the two leading tax bodies in the UK. Dealing exclusively with owner managed businesses I strive to offer tax advice and planning to ensure that tax liabilities are minimised.

Diane Hall FCCA Partner

I joined the practice in 1999 having gained training and experience with two other independent Chartered Accountancy firms in the North East. Having qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in February 2002, I am responsible for a wide ranging portfolio of clients and have vast experience in audit and accountancy services to SMEs’. My particular expertise is the audits of groups, financial services companies, solicitors’ practices and pension schemes. I enjoy working with businesses of all sizes and sectors and ensuring our services are tailored to suit each client’s specific needs.

Neil Hindley FCCA Partner

I joined the firm on a summer work placement between my second and third year at Newcastle University, and then subsequently returned as a graduate trainee accountant in September 2000. Since this time I have worked on a wide range of client portfolios in the fields of audit and assurance, accounting services, corporate finance and business planning. I enjoy working within the owner managed business and SME sector, and helping new start ups and expanding businesses achieve their business objectives, assisting with financial projections and management accounts.

Richard Urron CTA ATT Partner

After initially training with one of the Big 4 Accountancy practices working within their personal tax department I have now been with the firm since 2000. In this time I have gained a broad experience in all areas of direct taxation and VAT, advising companies, partnerships and individuals. I have also achieved membership of both of the leading professional bodies specialising in taxation. I particularly enjoy working with owner managed businesses to ensure that tax liabilities are minimised for both the company and the individuals involved through tax efficient structures and profit extraction.
